Product Details

This exquisite antique Italian Renaissance cabinet piece from the seventeenth century was originally displayed in a church atop a column with its two painted wood doors fully open and religious objects placed inside for viewing. The interior is painted and decorated even on the ceiling, indicating its original purpose to be viewed on a high pedestal where all features of the cabinet's interior could be admired.

The piece is comprised of polychrome wood with iron hardware at the top and bottom of the doors. The two doors and side panels are painted with a technique to mimic the look of marble known as faux marbre. The decorative wooden feet are characteristically Renaissance style as is the spectacularly carved foliage top pediment. This would be an extraordinary piece of history to add uniqueness and intrigue to any space.

No keys. Professional restorations to the cabinet will take place prior to dispatch. Note the top pediment can be removed for careful transportation.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
